Aligned Data Centers (a Texas developer) plans on repurposing the former Bruce Mansfield plant in Shippingport, Beaver County, by building two data centers. With businesses turning more towards AI automation and implementation, the new data centers will be much needed for the New Castle area. The new plant will provide the area with roughly 3,000 temporary jobs and nearly 500 full-time positions. Construction is estimated to begin some time in 2026 and will use natural gas to power the data centers.
